About Cheshire Cakes by Kate
I have always had an interest in baking since a young age enjoying helping my mum in the kitchen. This has developed further into building a business and I get to enjoy the fact my daughter is a keen baker helping in the kitchen too.
My university degree in Textile Art & Design helped to develop my artistic talents & creative flair, this combined with my interest in home baking has supported the passion I have for designing, making & decorating cakes.
Moving to Cheadle I looked into ways of involving myself within the community so entered myself into ‘ Cheadle Bake Off’ my first community event with Cheadle Gets Connected. I won the competition and my confidence grew with the compliments I received. That evening I set up my cake business and it has grown from there.Making all styles of cakes over the years; weddings, birthday, christening, children’s, corporate orders, baby showers, classic, novelty, drip cakes, brownies, scone cream teas and more recently treat boxes.
Monthly market stalls baking with seasonal cake favourites and Cheadle Gets Connected are popular events which I really enjoy as well as the support I give to Chelwood Food Bank by donating cakes for raffles and competitions through my social media account.
